If you're like me, you're surprised by the list of television shows that have benefited most from time shifted viewing.
What's surprising, is that we don't see the season Primetime leaders. I would've expected shows like NCIS, Dancing with the Stars, or Dexter. Instead, we see shows from niche cable networks and premium channels.
What's not surprising is that each of these shows appeals to the 18-45 demographic of men; the same demographic that gets excited about technology and quickly adopted DVRs. Does this mean that a minority of DVR users are time shifting their recorded programs?
Now that prices are dropping on Blu-ray DVD players with integrated streaming Netflix, are these users going to abandon DVRs and watch shows on demand? Have time shifted viewing habits peaked?
